one question though..did u unload the modules after using it?

you could check the modules by lsmod |grep wl12

Looks like it's an Xsession.d script, and hildon-welcome doesn't fork out of it, so it might indeed be delaying boot time

There's a lot of confusion over N900 connectivity. It's predictable once you understand it.

If you choose "Connect Automatically" it will try to connect periodically whether or not any application...

How do I disable the function that allows to remove shortcuts by long touch on desktop? I have some icones removed or moved over the desktop a few times a month.

or you could partially redefine your keyboard and associate for example the sequence shift-alt-N to dead_diaeresis. typing it will alter the key you press after it, like in הן.

As the title says is there a way of locking the screen like you could with the N800 so that the screen is locked but does not go black.

I need this as my little girl sometimes watches...
